Lessons

I offer private trumpet and composition lessons to students of all ages (6 to ∞) and abilities, with a special emphasis on the intermediate to advanced student. Lessons are conducted at my home in Highland Park NJ.

Topics covered in trumpet lessons include:
-Efficient practice habits
-Breathing and tone production
-Range, endurance, and general facility
-Improvisation and jazz repertoire
-Etudes and classical repertoire
-General music theory

Topics covered in composition lessons include:
-Advanced study of harmony and counterpoint
-Orchestration
-Arranging for big band and jazz combos
-20th century techniques
